Lincoln University began using a security application, Rave Guardian, this month.

The app lets registered students send notifications and messages to university police, among other features.

A Lincoln University spokeswoman told ABC 17 News on Thursday that police were notified through the app of social media activity that described several incidents of retaliation for the weekend shooting.
