United increases flights out of Columbia Regional Airport

A day after news broke that American Airlines had added flights between Chicago and Columbia, the Columbia Regional Airport said United Airlines is also offering more flights.

The airport in a Facebook post Thursday said United has added a third daily flight to Chicago O’Hare from Columbia, citing customer demand.

A United spokesman wrote in an email that the third daily flight between O’Hare and Columbia began earlier this month. United also flies to Denver from Columbia.

American Airlines confirmed Wednesday that it was adding two extra flights to Chicago from Columbia each day. A spokesperson attributed the decision to the Columbia-Chicago flights’ “strong performance.” The airline also operates flights to Dallas/Ft. Worth from Columbia daily.
