Storms possible by tomorrow night bringing the threat for severe weather

TODAY: Expect another beautiful day with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 with sunshine. The warm up can be attributed to breezy winds out of the south up to 15 mph. A few clouds return by evening.

TONIGHT: Some clouds build today as temperatures only dip into the low to mid 60s through Wednesday morning. Winds stay out of the south through the night.

EXTENDED: The middle of the week will bring more changes to Mid-Missouri. Another strong area of low pressure will move across the Midwest, cooling us down to end the week. As storms develop ahead of the cold front late Wednesday, some storms may become strong to severe. The Storm Prediction Center has us in a slight risk for severe weather. The threat includes all modes of severe weather, but large hail looks to be the primary risk. Damaging winds in excess of 58 mph and an isolated tornado can’t be ruled out. As storms enter into mid-Missouri after 10 PM the severe threat will begin to diminish through the morning. Some stronger storms can’t be ruled out through the night. Behind this, showers and t-storms may linger into Thursday as temperatures dip back into the upper 50s for highs. Easter weekend looks gorgeous with sunshine and highs in the 60s and 70s.
