CPS: Rock Bridge threat not credible

Columbia Public Schools officials informed police Monday after a non-credible threat was found scrawled on a bathroom stall, a district spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Graffiti with a threatening message was found on the stall wall and was investigated as outlined in district procedure, CPS spokeswoman Michelle Baumstark said. The threat was not found to be credible but parents and police were notified, she said.

Baumstark said the district follows the same protocol in all such incidents, which includes contacting police.

A Columbia Police Department spokesman confirmed Monday that the district called police about the message but referred questions to CPS.
