VIDEO: Boone County pursuit ends in fiery crash, suspects in custody
Two men were taken into custody Monday morning after a chase through northern Boone County that ended in flames.
Boone County deputies said the suspect’s car burst into flames after the two men were taken into custody. The fire ignited a nearby tree, but was quickly extinguished. The two male suspects were throwing drugs out the window of the vehicle as the chase progressed toward an area southwest of Hallsville, deputies said.
Deputies tried to pull the vehicle over near the intersection of North Highway 763 and East Prathersville Road, and when the vehicle did not pull over, a chase began. The chase came to an end around 3 a.m. near the 2800 block of Friendship Church Road.
James Hutchinson, 52, of Moberly was driving the vehicle and was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving and driving while revoked. Samson Hess, 45, of Moberly, was the passenger in the vehicle and was arrested on suspicion of tampering with evidence.
