Stolen gun, drugs found in Jefferson City man’s car after chase

Police arrest a 19-year-old suspect after a high speed chase in Jefferson City.

Sean Craft of Jefferson City is charged on several counts including resisting arrest, felony stealing and drug possession.

Officers attempted to pull Craft over around 3 a.m. Saturday after he allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign. According to the probable cause statement, Craft drove away from officers and made several turns “at a high rate of speed.”

Craft crashed into a concrete block in the 800 block of Adams Street. Authorities say he attempted to run from officers after the crash, but was later arrested.

Officers say they found 27 grams of marijuana and a stolen handgun in Crafts vehicle. Craft claimed ownership to both items, according to court documents.
