Man accused of sex crimes scheduled to appear in Boone County court

A man accused of taking video inside the bathroom at the Columbia Public Library and other sex crimes is expected to appear in Boone County court this month.

According to public records, a hearing is scheduled for Jay Robinson, 43, of Blue Springs, Missouri, on Monday, April 29, at 1:30 p.m.

Robinson is accused of taking a flight to Iceland from Chicago after he was arrested in Columbia back in August of 2018.

Police in Chicago said Robinson was extradited back to Boone County after he was arrested on a no-bond warrant on April 4 in Cook County, Illinois.

Robinson faces more than a dozen charges in two separate cases, including invasion of privacy, rape and sodomy.
