Cooler morning leads to a cooler weekend

FRIDAY: It’s a much colder start to the day as lows bottom out in the mid to upper 30s through the morning. Skies will be bright around Mid-Missouri, but it remains chilly with a westerly breeze and highs in the mid-50s.

TONIGHT: Some clouds build tonight as temperatures drop close to freezing again, but most areas will be above it through the night. Our far northern counties may drop below 32 by morning. Westerly winds become light through the night, creating for wind chills to only drop a few degrees below the actual air temperature tomorrow morning.

EXTENDED: The weekend will be cool with highs in the mid-50s, and a chance of rain by late Saturday night. We’ll have to watch closely Sunday morning across northwest Missouri for the possibility of some wet snow mixing with rain early in the morning. If we see any snowfall, accumulation doesn’t look likely. Showers continue for the rest of Sunday with highs only making the upper 40s or low 50s. Temperatures spike back above normal next week with the low 70s by Monday. More changes are on the way by late next week as we track our next storm system.
