Temperatures soar and winds pick up into Wednesday

TONIGHT: Mild and comfortable with lows falling into the mid-50s. A few passing clouds are possible but dry skies prevail into Wednesday.

TOMORROW: Partly cloudy and breezy as a warm front lifts in our direction. Winds pick up to 20-25 mph from the south and we could have gusts between 35-40 mph in the afternoon. Highs soar to near 80 degrees.

EXTENDED: A warm front slides into the area Wednesday, increasing winds and temperatures ahead of a powerful storm system that will bring rain and snow to parts of the upper Midwest. A cold front will approach the area on Thursday, increasing clouds and giving us a chance of isolated showers and/or a few storms during the day as gusty winds continue. The front slides through Thursday evening, dropping our overnight lows into the 30s. Much cooler weather moves in to close out the week, with highs struggling to get back to 50 on Friday. The weekend will be cool with highs in the mid-50s, and a chance of rain on Sunday. Check back with ABC 17 News on-air and online to get the latest forecast updates.
