Dog shot on Clinkscales Road
Columbia police said someone shot a dog just before 2 p.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Clinkscales Road after apparently hearing two or more dogs fighting.
Spokesperson Jeff Pitts told ABC 17 News that the person ended up firing shots and injuring a dog.
The dog is a pit bull named Sheerah. Her owner sent ABC 17 News pictures of her after she was treated for the gunshot wound. She said the bullet apparently went into her back and exited her left front leg.
Due to the ongoing investigation, no further information is available.
The owner tells us Sheerah is not vicious, and they plan to follow up with authorities.
