Beautiful weather ahead of next strong storm system later this week
TONIGHT: We’re tracking another cold front as we head into the early morning hours on Tuesday. Temperatures will cool off into the upper 40s and low 50s along with winds picking up and shifting out of the northeast toward daybreak. With little moisture available and another front lacking in significant strength, we’ll stay dry.
TUESDAY : Enjoy another beautiful day in mid-Missouri as temperatures climb to near 70 under sunny skies. Thanks to the cold front, temperatures will be a touch cooler through the day, but still comfortable! Expect a light breeze out of the northeast through the afternoon.
EXTENDED: A warm front will lift through the area on Wednesday, bringing breezy conditions which will nudge temperatures into the middle to upper 70s range. Clouds will be increasing throughout the day as our next storm system approaches, but we look to stay dry through the afternoon. This next system will move to the north of our area, but bring a cold front into mid-Missouri by late Thursday. It will stay breezy ahead of and behind showers and storms on Thursday. Strong non-thunderstorm wind gusts near 50 mph may be possible into Thursday. It’s something we’ll track as we head into the middle of this week. Much cooler weather moves in to close out the week, with highs struggling to get back to 50 on Friday. Check back with ABC 17 News on-air and online to get the latest forecast updates.
