Deputies arrest woman for allegedly setting car on fire

Camden County deputies arrested a Macks Creek woman after she allegedly set a car on fire and attempted to set a home and person on fire, authorities said.

According to a news release, deputies and fire and ambulance personnel responded to a home on Storm Ridge Road around 12:30 p.m. Thursday for a disturbance.

Deputies learned a woman set the victim’s vehicle on fire and was attempting to set an occupied home on fire, as well. When deputies arrived they also learned that the woman sprayed one of the victims with lighter fluid and attempted to set him on fire.

The press release said three people were home at the time, including an 8-month-old child.

Deputies arrested Norma Rogers, 67, on suspicion of arson, several counts of assault and endangering the welfare of a child, authorities said.

Deputies said Rogers is in the Camden County Adult Detention Center on a $250,000 cash only bond.
