Slight rain chances today give way to widespread showers tonight

WEDNESDAY: Clouds have been increasing since last night, and look to stick around for much of the day on Wednesday. Winds out of the southeast will help to warm us up this afternoon into the upper 60s. We could squeeze out a shower or two as a warm front lifts through the area throughout the day, but most of the day looks dry.

TONIGHT: Rain chances increase late tonight as our next storm system approaches from the west. An upper trough will move through, kicking off widespread rainfall into the morning with a few embedded thunderstorms, but nothing severe. Temperatures overnight will fall into the upper 40s.

EXTENDED: Ongoing rain will continue into the morning on Thursday before tapering off by the evening. Temperatures will only make it into the low 60s with abundant cloud cover. We’re back in the middle 60s Friday, with those dry conditions sticking around. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll be tracking our next chance of rain shortly after the first, by this weekend. Models have yet to come into an agreement, but we could see rain chances returning as early as Saturday afternoon, or holding off until late Saturday night. Regardless, it looks like temperatures in the afternoon both Saturday and Sunday will be in the low 70s. Those rain chances from the weekend look like they could spill over into Monday before coming to an end. Be sure to check back with ABC 17 on-air or online to get the latest forecast updates.
