What you need to know before heading to the polls today
Boone County voting polls are open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday for Election day.
Boone County Clerk Brianna Lennon said she expects Tuesday to be similar to last year’s election, which saw a 15.9 percent turnout.
All Columbia residents have two items on their ballots, selecting Columbia’s mayor and two school board candidates.
Boone County’s sample ballot shows what every Boone County resident can expect to see on Tuesday’s ballot.
Incumbent Mayor Brian Treece is running for re-election against Chris Kelly.
The next elected mayor will serve for a year of 3 years.
The ballot has the following four candidates running for two spots on Columbia’s school board. Voters will select two candidates for two open spots on the board.

The Boone County Clerk’s Facebook page has four items to know before heading out to vote:
1. Check your address, or submit a change of address here.
2. Find your polling place here.
3. Don’t forget your ID, a list of acceptable forms of identification is available here.
4. Completely fill out the bubbles on the ballot, a new one is available if voters make any mistakes.
