Tracking our next chance of rainfall arriving Wednesday evening

THIS AFTERNOON: We’re in the wake of a weak cold front that moved through Mid-Missouri this morning. Any spot shower chances have, for the most part, moved out of the viewing area. Behind this front we can expect breezy conditions as winds turn out of the west. Gusts up to 23 mph are possible this afternoon. Skies will continue to clear and temperatures will rise into the mid-upper 50s.

TONIGHT: Skies will hold partly to mostly cloudy across the region this evening. Temperatures are warmer than the past few nights. Many places in Mid-MO will be in the low 40s and upper 30s. Winds will turn out of the southeast and become gusty through Wednesday.

EXTENDED: Southerly winds return and clouds increase all ahead of our next chance for rain. It looks to hold off until later in the day on Wednesday, however. Temperatures in the afternoon will make it into the mid to upper 60s thanks to those breezy conditions. Rain moves in Wednesday evening, and looks to stick around for a good portion of Thursday, with a rumble of thunder possibly mixing in Thursday morning. Rain moves out by Thursday evening, but cloud cover looks a little more stubborn to get rid of. It looks like we’ll see more of a mix of sun and clouds Friday and Saturday with temperatures in the middle to upper 60s Friday and low 70s by Saturday. Showers return to close out the weekend, with temperatures staying in the low 70s. Be sure to check back with ABC 17 on-air or online to get the latest forecast updates.
