Columbia man accused of stealing from local business
A Columbia man is charged after allegedly stealing more than $190,000 from the Columbia JC Penney.
A JC Penney employee is charged after being accused of stealing from the JC Penney. Troy Sitton, 25, was taken into custody in March for stealing from the store.
Police reports show Sitton made fraudulent returns and discounts on merchandise. JC Penney employees told officers Sitton stole $196,000 from the company. The store also alleges the scheme lasted for two months.
Sitton is scheduled to make his first court appearance Wednesday.
