Flooding leads to more road closures in mid-Missouri

Flooding on the Missouri River and its tributaries has caused more road closures in mid-Missouri.

Route OO near the Lamine River in Cooper County closed late Sunday from Route M to Short Drive near Boonville.

Also near Boonville, Route V near the Petite Saline Creek closed Sunday between Oerly and Big Lick Road.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is reporting 151 total road closures across the state because of flooding. Those closures include Highway 87 in Howard County and Highway 179 in Moniteau County.

The National Weather Service predicts the Missouri River will start to recede overnight Monday through the rest of the week. The river was in major flood stage Monday at Glasgow and moderate flood stage at Jefferson City.

Several Boone County roads were also closed because of flooding, including Smith Hatchery and Hartsburg Bottom.
