Man accused of trying to hide meth from Boone County deputies

Prosecutors have charged a man after he tried to hide meth from Boone County deputies.

Travis W. Crutchfield , 39, of New Franklin, was arrested around 4:15 a.m. Saturday following a traffic stop on Highway VV near Hinton Road.

According to court documents, Crutchfield hid two plastic bags he grabbed from the hood of a patrol cruiser.

Deputies said the drugs were recovered from the inside of Crutchfield’s pickup truck.

One of the baggies was reportedly found hidden in Crutchfield’s underwear during a search at the traffic stop.

Court documents reveal the second bag was recovered by deputies at the hospital while Cruthfield was changing clothes.

Crutchfield is also accused of causing around $750 in damage to a deputy’s patrol car after he picked off the paint.

Deputies said they found more than two ounces of meth in both plastic baggies.

According to court documents, Crutchfield also resisted arrest when deputies tried to transport him from the hospital to the Boone County Jail.

Crutchfield is charged with second-degree trafficking drugs, first-degree property damage, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest.
