Thousands of Ameren customers lose power in Randolph County

Thousands of customers lost power in the Randolph County area Wednesday night, according to the Ameren outage map.

As of 6 p.m., the map showed 1,688 customers affected south of Moberly, 1,051 customers without power near Huntsville, 294 customers between Moberly and Madison, 532 customers in Madison and an additional 158 customers impacted in Clark.

Ameren estimated power would be restored around 7:15 p.m.

Ameren said the outages were caused by an issue with the substation and could potentially have been due to a change in voltage. Weather did not play a role in the outages, according to the company.
