Gunshot wound victim shows up at Boone County Sheriff’s Department
Boone County deputies are investigating after a man showed up to the department headquarters with a gunshot wound.
Deputies said the victim reported that the shooting took place in the 7600 block of N. Hwy VV around 10 p.m. Monday and from there, the man drove to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies also said the victim’s statement was vague and changed several times during questioning, but seemed to indicate that he was walking in the area of Hwy VV, when the occupant of a nearby gold SUV fired several gunshots, one of which hit the victim.
The victim’s injuries were not life-threatening, and he did not request medical attention.
The deputy told ABC 17 News that more information would come out through a news release.
Law enforcement agencies are still investigating the circumstances of the shooting.
