Investigation underway after fire at Jefferson City business

Several agencies are investigating after a fire broke out at a Jefferson City business Monday morning.

A spokesman for the Jefferson City Fire Department told ABC 17 News the fire started around 7 a.m. at SCUBA Adventure on Jefferson Street.

Everyone inside the business was able to get out safely.

Firefighters said the fire caused damage in the basement and to the first floor of SCUBA Adventure.

An estimated cost of the damage wasn’t released.

The Jefferson City Fire Department, Jefferson City Police Department and State Fire Marshal are investigating what caused the fire to start.
