Deputies discover $20,000 in steroids during traffic stop

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department arrested one person for allegedly having steroids without a prescription.

According to a news release, a deputy pulled over a vehicle for expired registration on Highway 54 near Brown Road on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities said the traffic stop resulted in the deputy seizing syringes and approximately $20,000 of anabolic steroids, without a prescription.

The news release said one person was taken into custody on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance.
