VIDEO: Three men break in to Columbia home

Police were searching for three men after a Thursday morning break-in in northeast Columbia.

Police said the three men entered a home in the1500 block of Spiros Drive around 3 a.m. claiming to be sheriff’s deputies.

The residents inside the home realized the men were not officers and called police. The three men then fled the scene.

Police said the three men were described as wearing light-colored hoodies and carrying handguns. A viewer sent ABC 17 News the video of the incident, which matches up with the police description.

Both Columbia police officers and Boone County deputies were on the scene searching the area with a K-9, but no suspects were found.
