One in custody after police chase near Ashland

One person was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon after leading police on a chase near Ashland.

The chase began after Allan Bobbitt, 32, was driving with a revoked license and did not pull over for police. Bobbitt eventually slid off of Edwards Road, into some trees and ran away from law enforcement.

A K9 was able to track down Bobbitt, and he was taken into custody at 1:40 p.m., according to Sgt. Scott White with Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Multiple units responded to the scene, including Ashland Police, Boone County Sheriff’s Office and a MSHP helicopter.

Police had tried to pull Bobbitt over about 30 days previously, and they said Bobbitt did not pull over then either.

Southern Boone schools were on lockdown for nearly 30 minutes due to the incident in the area, according to Superintendent Chris Felmlee .
