Two people killed in suspected DWI crash in Benton County

Two people were killed in a suspected DWI crash in Benton County on Friday afternoon.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. on Highway H east of Heits Point Avenue.

According to the crash report, the driver, Kurt Eisinger, 62, of Warsaw, drove a truck off the right side of the road, overcorrected and struck a rock cliff, causing the vehicle to overturn.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said passengers Barbara Adams, 66, and Johnnie Adams, 64, both of Warsaw, were pronounced dead on the scene. A 5-year-old passenger was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, according to the crash report.

An arrest report indicates troopers arrested Eisinger around 3 p.m. He was booked into the Benton County Jail on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child.

The crash report said no one in the vehicle was wearing a seat belt.
