Man arrested twice in one week after leading authorities on chase
A man was arrested for a second time this week after allegedly leading the Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office on a chase Wednesday.
According to a news release, Christopher Winter drove by a deputy multiple times while the deputy was assisting with an unrelated traffic stop. The deputy noticed Winter was driving a vehicle with vision-reducing material on the license plate and no rear license plate, authorities said.
The deputy attempted to stop Winter, who allegedly sped off. Authorities said the deputies pursued the vehicle through California and into the county. The chase ended at a home in California and Winters was arrested, the release said.
Authorities said the pursuit involved the Highway Patrol, Moniteau County Sheriff’s Office, Tipton Police Department and the California Police Department.
According to the news release, Winter was arrested Tuesday, the day before the pursuit and had bonded out of jail Wednesday morning. Winter was back in custody around 7 p.m. Wednesday night.
