Strong wind gusts through Thursday could cause minor damage

A powerful storm system will continue to generate strong south to southwesterly winds through Thursday as it passes to our north. A Wind Advisory continues until 7 PM Thursday for all of Mid-Missouri due to southerly winds sustained at 20-30 mph gusting as high as 50 mph at times.

Strong winds could blow down limbs and uproot smaller trees in saturated soil. Power lines could be blown down which could lead to scattered power outages. Also, travel could be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles on east-west oriented roads. Winds could lift and move trash cans, lawn furniture and other loose outdoor objects.
