CPS contracts with new substitute staffing service

The Columbia Public School District has agreed to contract with a new substitute staffing company called EDUStaff.

The contract with EDUStaff will last for the next three years. It will begin July 1, 2019, and last through June 30, 2022.

The company is based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan.

It has a marketing and recruitment process and screening and hiring process that can look into applicants’ criminal history and certifications. They also have a training program.

According to the contract, substitute teachers will be paid $80 a day and long-term stay is $125 a day.

CPS has an operating budget of $2.5 million annually for substitute staffing.
