Quiet weather remains this afternoon, Rain & wind returns Mid-Week

THIS AFTERNOON: Early morning clouds are starting to burn off across Mid Missouri. They’ll stick around a bit longer in our southeastern counties but for the most part sunshine will hold for the remained of the day. We can expect temperatures to top out in the upper 40s.

TONIGHT: Clouds will build into the area overnight and that will help slow down cooling that we see. Out the door Tuesday we can expect temperatures to start in the mid-30s.

EXTENDED: As we head into Tuesday, another potent storm system begins to influence our weather. We’ll see winds turn out of a more southeasterly direction, as rain moves into Mid-Missouri. Showers will be on and off throughout the day and into the evening. As this storm system crawls toward the area into Wednesday, winds will be increasing. Temperatures in response will make it into the low to mid-60s in the afternoon on Wednesday, with continued chances at rain. We start drying out on Thursday afternoon with temperatures making it back into the middle 50s. Winds will be breezy both Wednesday and Thursday as the cold front moves through, creating some concern when factoring in the already loose soils we’ll have. This system that will be affecting the weather for the better part of 3 days finally moves out for Friday, dropping temperatures back into the middle 40s. That quiet weather sticks around this weekend. Check back with ABC 17 News for the latest forecast on-air and online.
