Former Sturgeon Police Chief back in court Monday

Former Sturgeon Police Chief Greg Halderman will be back in court Monday after his attorneys filed a motion asking the city to provide evidence showing it was not in contempt of court by putting him on unpaid leave

Boone County Judge Jeff Harris ordered that Halderman be reinstated as Sturgeon’s police chief with back pay on Feb. 15.

However, hours before returning to work, Halderman was sent a letter by the Sturgeon mayor saying he would receive no pay while he was suspended.

Halderman’s lawyers filed a motion shortly after, arguing the city was “willfully violating” the judge’s ruling.

The hearing begins at 9 a.m. at the Boone County Courthouse.
