Storms clearing out… Strong wind gusts to pound the region through the evening

TONIGHT: Strong winds will be the story this evening as we continue to clear out from rain and storms earlier on. We’ll see temperatures fall through the 40s and bottom out near the freezing mark by Sunday morning. Winds this evening will range anywhere from 40 to 60 mph at times. Make sure any outdoor items are brought in or tied down. There have been reports in parts of southern Missouri of large tree limbs down this afternoon as well.

SUNDAY: We start off on the chilly side, but we will remain quiet on Sunday. Temperatures rebound thanks to partly cloudy skies in the afternoon. We’ll top out in the mid-to-upper 40s. Winds will remain steady out of the west up to 15 mph.

EXTENDED: We’ll remain quiet to kick off the work week. Sunshine and seasonal temps for Monday. Tuesday through Thursday look to be unsettled as another powerful, wound-up storm system looks to track through the area. Widespread showers, storms and gusty winds look to play a key role by the middle of the week.
