Man flees scene after running into Columbia Laundry

The Columbia Police Department was searching for the driver of a vehicle Wednesday after they allegedly ran into Columbia Laundry and fled the scene.

Police and fire officials responded to the scene at Columbia Laundry on Business Loop shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Officials said a vehicle ran into the business and then fled the scene. They found the Nissan Pathfinder a few blocks away shortly after. Police said the male suspect then fled on foot.

Witnesses at the scene said the vehicle did not have a license plate.

Officers are on scene collecting evidence, and a building inspector is assessing the damage. Police said the damage to the building was not extensive enough to evacuate the building.

There were no injuries in the incident.
