Three businesses submit proposals for former Boone County Fairgrounds

Three businesses submitted their proposals for the former Boone County Fairgrounds.

According to Boone County purchasing director Melinda Bobbitt, UPS, Veterans United and JC Events LLC all submitted proposals. A county team will review the proposals and then make a recommendation to the Boone County Commission.

Bobbitt said the recommendation could be made as early as April.

Boone County is requesting the businesses agree to a 50-year lease. Veterans United and UPS already have contracts with the Central Missouri Events Center, but both contracts expire later this year.
