Windy day in store on Sunday
WIND ADVISORIES IN EFFECT FOR ALL OF MID MISSOURI FROM MIDNIGHT TO NOON SUNDAY
SUNDAY: We’re waking up to windy conditions this morning, with some gusts getting over 50 mph. Winds will slowly diminish by this afternoon as this system moves into the Great Lakes region. Despite plentiful sunshine, temperatures will only reach the mid to upper 30s, with wind chills topping out in the mid to upper 20s.
TONIGHT: We stay quiet overnight, hanging on to mostly clear skies as dry air continues to slide in. Temperatures will drop into the mid to upper teens for lows tonight with these clear skies. Winds won’t be howling nearly as much tonight, out of the north with an occasional gust reaching 20 mph.
EXTENDED: Temperatures moderate as windy conditions die down into Monday. We’ll see continued sunshine with temperatures reaching the low 40s, so feeling much better starting out the work week. Tuesday we continue the warming trend, getting into the mid to upper 40s in the afternoon. Our next shot at precipitation moves in Wednesday. Depending on the timing of this disturbance, we could see light rain or even light snow. Moisture looks to be lacking with this system, so impacts should be minimal. Long-term models are continuing to hint at a much colder weekend to start the month of March. Check back with ABC 17 News for the latest forecast.
