Felon runs from crash in southern Boone County

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is working to locate a suspected felon who fled from a crash on Highway 63 southbound around 9 a.m.

According to Sgt. Scott White, troopers received information about a non-injury crash involving one car about 2 miles south of Mt. Pleasant.

The man had fled on foot into the nearby woods. Troopers said further investigation revealed the vehicle’s owner had felony and misdemeanor warrants.

The active search to find him lasted until about noon. White said the follow up will continue.

The search also expanded to Ashland before it was called off.

Troopers do not have a description of the suspect at this time. White did not have information on what the warrants were for.
