Bob Burchard coaches final home game at Columbia College

Bob Burchard coached his final home game at Columbia College on Saturday afternoon. The Cougars lost 88-79 to Lincoln College.

After the game, head coach Bob Burchard addressed the crowd. He said, “there is no trophy shiny enough to beat this collection of friends.”

Burchard has 785 wins in 31 seasons at Columbia College. He is No. 1 in wins among active NAIA men’s coaches and No. 33 all-time among all college basketball coaches.

CC named its court after Burchard in 2016. He has helped guide the Cougars to 22 NAIA National Tournaments. His team reached the championship game in 2009.

On Feb. 9, Columbia College announced Tomas Brock will replace Burchard after the season. The Cougars will be back in action next week in the AMC Tournament.
