Search for Columbia man suspected of murder continues in Fulton

Authorities in Fulton are asking for the public’s help in the search of a man suspected of murder.

Garland Wisley, 60, of Columbia, was charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action in January in connection with the shooting death of John Albers.

Wisley has ties to the Fulton area, according to a statement by the Fulton Police Department. The department’s Special Response Unit, which is comprised of Fulton Police officers and Callaway County Sheriff’s deputies, has enlisted the help of property owners in its search

“Several locations were searched after receiving permission from the property owners for Wisley,” the statement said. “There were other properties in the city that the team was invited to look through at the request of their owners.”

Wisley goes by the street name “Boone,” and has a Columbia address listed on online court records.

Anyone with information on Wisley is asked to call the Fulton Police Department, Callaway County Sheriff’s Office or Callaway County Crimestoppers at 573-592-2474.
