Rain and mild air start the weekend, windy and cooler Sunday

TONIGHT: Spotty rain showers will continue overnight, becoming more numerous through Saturday morning. Thunder is possible as well. Expect lows to stay above average, in the mid 30s.

SATURDAY: Rain showers will continue through early afternoon, becoming less numerous into the evening hours. An isolated t-storm is also possible. Temperatures will warm into the 50s as winds shift to the south and become gusty in the afternoon, up to 30 mph.

EXTENDED: As showers decrease, colder air moves in Saturday night. A few light snow showers can’t be ruled out north of I-70 but no accumulation is expected. It will be windy Saturday night with westerly winds at 18-25 mph, gusting as high as 45 mph overnight as colder air moves in, dropping us into the upper 20s with wind chills in the teens. Sunday looks windy and cooler with highs in the low 40s. That seasonal weather sticks around for the beginning of the work week on Monday and Tuesday before another surge of cold air moves in by Wednesday, keeping us in the 30s next Wednesday and Thursday.
