Crews respond to fire at Boone County duplex
Firefighters responded to a fire at a residential structure south of Columbia on Thursday night.
The Boone County Fire Protection District was dispatched to the building in the 200 block of East Chris Drive around 8:15 p.m. Crews arrived in less than three minutes, according to Bureau Director Gale Blomenkamp.
Fire officials said it was a small fire and one person was transported to the hospital. The cause of the fire is unknown, but officials said the investigation is ongoing.
Crews started to clear the scene around 9 p.m.
