Sheriff investigates arson in Camden County

The Camden County Sheriff’s Office and Mid County Fire Department were investigating multiple instances of arson after they found bales of hay and mailboxes on fire.

They responded to bales of hay on fire inside a barn on Jeffries Road on Tuesday. They also responded areas where mail had been set on fire inside the mailboxes on Snelling Road, Franklin Road and Freedom Ridge.

Fire officials responded to a barn fire on Elliott Drive in Macks Creek Monday. The barn was considered a total loss. Officials do not know if arson was the cause of the barn fire.

The state fire marshal is investigating Tuesday’s fires.
