Weather Alert Day: Accumulating snow and slick roads Friday

The Weather Alert Day continues as roads are snow covered and slick travel continues. Snow will end from west to east through Friday evening with the back edge east of our area by midnight. Most areas have gotten 1-3″ snow but south of I-70 we had up to 5 inches reported. Here are a few reports as of 8 PM.

Additional snow amounts through midnight will be minor but an additional half inch to inch is possible in our southeastern counties before snow ends. Here are forecast ADDITIONAL amounts from 8 PM to midnight.

We are seeing impacts on the roadways in Mid-Missouri which will continue overnight. If you have to be out on the roads, drive slowly and give the car in front of you plenty of space to slow down.

Also, it will be very cold overnight with lows in the teens and wind chills in the single digits.

We are also tracking another chance of snow heading into Saturday night and Sunday, but this system looks to only add a dusting to 2 inches with possibly a glaze of ice in the Ozarks. Watch ABC 17 News for the newest track of the weekend system.
