Columbia to enforce priority snow routes at 4 p.m.

The city of Columbia is urging drivers to move vehicles off of priority snow routes so plows can treat the roads.

In a news release, the city said it will begin enforcing prioroity snow routes at 4 p.m. Friday.

This means vehicles parked on marked priority routes could be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.

Parking is not allowed on priority routes when snow accumulates 2 inches or more. The city said residents can sign up for alerts at Nixle.com or by texting the phrase COLUMBIAPW to 888-777.
