Woman charged after police recover drugs in Columbia hotel room

A woman has been charged after Columbia police recovered drugs in a hotel room.

Jennifer L. Rinehart, 32, of Columbia, was charged in Boone County this week with delivery and possession of a controlled substance.

According to court documents obtained by ABC 17 News, police found a large amount of meth and drug paraphernalia inside a room at the Country Inn and Suites on Dec. 14. Police had responded to the hotel after staff couldn’t get inside the room to clean it.

The court document reveal another person, Shannon Jones, was found on the floor of the room possibly suffering from cardiac arrest. So far, it’s unclear of Jones’ condition.

Police said a purse found in the room contained Rinehart’s ID and cocaine.

Staff at the hotel also told police the room was in Rinehart’s name.
