Focus groups will meet to discuss CPD policy

A few different groups are set to meet Wednesday night to discuss some Columbia Police Department policies and give their input.

According to city spokesman Steve Sapp, this was interim Police Chief Geoff Jones’s idea to find way to involve Columbia residents in the department’s policy process.

“They needed some involvement in policy review,” said Sapp. “Those are the policies that are going to be used to police them (the police).”

ABC 17 News will have a crew at the meeting, and will bring you any updates at 9 and 10 p.m.
