Documents: Miller County couple admits to selling meth

A romantic pair were arrested in Miler County after they admitted selling methamphetamine to support the man’s business, according to investigators.

Gary D. Gruebel and Kelly S. Erickson were arrested after authorities searched 350 Kaiser Industrial Drive in Kaiser on Jan. 22. The location is both a business and a residence.

During the search, Gruebel opened a safe in a closet and inside authorities found a cigar box containing a crystalline substance which tested positive for meth and weighed about 3 grams, according to a probable cause statement filed in the case.

Inivestigators say they also found a water bong used to smoke meth and that water from the bong believed to contain meth was sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s crime lab for analysis.

Several guns were also found in the home, investigators said. Gruelbel has a felony conviction for DWI from 2012, meaning it is illegal for him to own a firearm.

Gruebel and Erickson each told investigators during interrogations that they had been selling the drug for about six months to support Gruebel’s business, Gruebel Excavating, according to probable cause statements in each case.

Gruebel was charged with drug trafficking and unlawful gun possession and Erickson was charged with drug trafficking. Gruebel’s bond was set at $50,000 and Erickson’s at $25,000. It was not clear whether they were in custody Wednesday.
