Lanes blocked after pickup hits firetruck in south Columbia

The northbound lanes of Providence Road and the eastbound lanes of Green Meadows Road in Columbia were blocked Tuesday afternoon after a crash.

A pickup truck collided with a Columbia Fire Department firetruck that was responding to an emergency call, a CFD official at the scene said. The fire crew was shaken up but not injured and one person in the pickup truck was sent to a hospital.

Traffic going north on Providence was being diverted at Nifong Boulevard. The road reopened at about 3 p.m.
