Moniteau County man accused of breaking into restaurant

A Moniteau County man has been charged after he was accused of breaking into a restaurant.

According to the California Police Department, Gemini T. Heisserer, of California, broke a window on a door to get inside the Nic Nac Cafe early Thursday morning.

The owner told police at the scene that more than $2,700 was missing from two registers.

Police said the owner told investigators that Heisserer had quit his job as assistant manager shortly before the break-in.

According to court documents obtained by ABC 17 News, a woman found more than $1,000 inside a vest Heisserer had left at her home the morning of the burglary.

Heisserer was later arrested after police said he admitted to taking the money from the restaurant.

Prosecutors have charged Heisserer with second-degree burglary, stealing and second-degree property damage.
