Hallsville school bus gets stuck due to icy roads

A Hallsville R-IV school bus became stuck when it was on its way to pick up students Monday morning.

The bus became stuck on N. Kircher Road at Highway HH. No students were on the bus at the time, and parents were alerted that the bus was running 20-30 minutes behind schedule, according to a spokeswoman for the school district.

The bus did not have enough traction to get up an incline on the road due to the wet and icy conditions, the spokeswoman said. Boone County Fire officials responded to the scene. Part of the road was blocked for a 30-minute period.

Students arrived to their schools approximately 25 minutes late.

No one was injured in the incident.
