CPS, JCPS leaders lobby state government for local control
Leaders of local school boards said Monday that they stressed the need for districts to make decisions locally instead of receiving statewide mandates.
School board members and administrators from across the state gathered in Jefferson City for the Missouri School Boards’ Association legislative forum.
The district representatives heard from speakers including Gov. Mike Parson, Commissioner of Education Margie Vandeven and State Board of Education President Charlie Shields.
