Duplex fire in Fulton causes $35,000 in damages

The Fulton Fire Department responded to a structure fire at a two-story duplex on Saturday night.

Crews responded to the fire on Ninth Street at 9:15 p.m. Upon arrival, heavy flames were visible, but all of the residents were leaving the duplex.

According to a press release, four engines reported to the fire, and firefighters were able to bring the fire under control within minutes. The accidental fire damaged the attic of the duplex, and other parts of the structure had smoke and water damage.

Investigators determined damages were around $35,000.

The Red Cross helped assist the residents of the duplex.
